Claimant says:
"We initially responded to a postcard flyer dated 05/10/2012 advertising two roundtrip airline tickets from "US Airlines" Award notification No 0412 if we attend an open house in Portland, OR scheduled for June 3rd, 2012. We attended the open house and also signed the contract with Vacation Inspirations for their travel agency.

The invitation said: "You have been offered a special gift in exchange for your time in attending the open house. You will receive two roundtrip airline tickets valid anywhere inside the continental United States to a major international airport. This offer is in consideration of your time for previewing the wholesale travel agency."

On June 3, 2012 we attended the open house. On April 5, 2013, we finally decided we must withdraw to have any association with this travel scam because:

1: After 10 months of filling out many paperwork and back forth with them we still haven’t received our two free round trip tickets.

2: We have been requested to pay a lot little fees such as tax and airline fee, although they never indicated any additional fees would be required in their initial offer.

3: The first few requests that we made to activate the claim for tickets, they claimed that they never received them, so we had to re-submit again and pay additional fees.

4: After they admitted that they finally received our request, the response was that they ..."will let us know in 45-60 days" This is neither business-like nor reasonable, nor right. It is a scam, pure and simple: and obvious to us that they target retired folks with their appeal to the older folks in our group who have a desire to get family together at a resort for an annual vacation. Nobody, let alone older folks can deal with their cumbersome and unreasonable communication (lack of it), 5-step process to claim an award, and fees to finish it.

5: We can’t make any travel plan because we don’t know if the response after 45-60 days will be “YES” or “NO”.

We complained to Vacation Inspirations on April 5, asking for a full refund of fees paid. Prestige Travel Systems, Inc., Tampa FL refunded us $163.95 and Prestige Travel dba Gateway to Paradise refunded $50.00. These were the added fees to collect our 2 "FREE" airline tickets. But Carrie Barger, Executive Administrator for Vacation Inspirations refuses to refund our $3,098 contract fee.

She said in her April 22, 2013 response letter "Our rescission policy was made clear both in your contract and your disclosure before you were given the opportunity to sign. Therefore, the request for cancellation has been denied."

With all respect, she has not honored even the most basic aspect of the agreement, namely to send us the two air free air fares, even though we did pay the extra fees in a good faith attempt to work with this company,

Although Vacation Inspiration refunded us for all the fees we have paid for their free offer, we have decided their travel plan doesn’t meet our needs because the lengthy procedure and uncertainty after our experience with them to get their free offer.

We have zero wish to work with this firm and expect a full and complete refund of the $3,098 paid on June 3, 2012. WE have not been able to use a single bit of their services since we could not even get them to honor their initial commitment and offer after we attended the promotional seminar in Portland June 3rd.

We would like to determine how many other complaints this company has received for poor service, since that is all they have to sell.

My opinion is that this company deserves a class action lawsuit.
