Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"The cleaning service, The Mop Ladies from York, Pa, came into my home to clean on Fri 10/27/16. They did not do the upstairs and downstairs, only partially done. This was not what the agreement was. They said there was too much dust to complete the job. What they dusted downstairs, they only did part of it. I do not live in a big house. There were 2 girls for 3 hrs. They took pics without my consent. I told them I was unhappy and wanted my money back. I have had trouble with them in past but thought I would give them another chance. Bad Mistake. They took the money and ran"

Additional Communication Between Claimant and The Mop Ladies Hide
  • Oct 31, 2016, Claiming party added:
  • Per the text msg, I no longer wanted this service r/t the incomplete and poor service. The 1st floor was Not finished. Items that were dusted were only done half. Floor wasn't completed either. Partially. This has happened before several times, so much the co owner was to come to my home to inspect. That did not occur.

  • Nov 01, 2016, Claiming party added:
  • As my family reminded me, there were a couple of times when the service was so bad, the company only charged me half. Twice I told them that it wont be necessary. With that in mind, I am not out to get something for free, but what is right is right and wrong is wrong.

I think as a Residential cleaning service the Company in the interest of business should refund the ladies money who was un happy with the service and keep it moving, this should be about customer satisfaction, and in business the customers always right even when they are wrong.

Is this a fair resolution?

  • What did they take pictures of? I can be a bit of a PigPen so if they were in my house they'd probably be taking pics of the mess to prove to their boss that they couldn't reasonably leave everything sparkling in 3 hours!

This is a tough one. If you clean regularly, or have it done regularly, it's easy to do a routine cleaning - I agree that three hours with 2 cleaners should be plenty for a reasonable size house. Or was it two hours with three cleaners? The claimant and Mop Ladies are saying two different things.

But if this wasn't routine - say you'd been ill and hadn't been able to do a thing - and the house was in pretty bad order, not so much.

Also, if you have a ton of knick-knacks, it's hard to get everything dusted. The only way to do it properly is to take everything off the shelf or table, clean that, and then clean each thing in soapy water or with a duster. (Yes I CAN clean...I just sometimes don't).
