Claimant says:
"In 2010, I hired 'The Cleaning Authority' for bi-monthly cleaning service. In 2011, I noticed one of my rings was missing. When the cleaning team arrived for the scheduled visit, I asked the team leader did she see my ring. She claimed to first not understand me (language barrier), and then said, "I didn't see it". I reported the missing ring to the owner, Michael Mucci. He said, "My girls go through background checks, and I have never had a complaint". If he had a complaint, it is unlikely he would share the information with a client or prospective client.

A few weeks passed after the 1st incident, while preparing for work, I preceded to lay out my jewelry ~ I looked for my necklace - GONE! I searched different areas in my jewelry box, and the surrounding area to no avail. When I spoke with Michael Mucci again, I told him I was missing another item. He immediately said, my girls don't steal. I told him I searched extensively and this is the second time jewelry has been stolen!

After searching through the internet, and 'googling' the company name ~ I learned that numerous customers have complained that items have gone missing. Very similar to my situation, the theft happens over a period of time. This appears to be the M.O. of this particular company. So the question is ~ WHAT KIND OF BACKGROUND CHECK DID THEY COMPLETE? Mr. Mucci could have shared the background checks he completed on 'his girls'. But, he never offered.

I called the corporate office, and I was told by an executive "Each franchise is independently owned and operated". I discontinued the service, and went to small claims court. The arbitrator indicated there were no eye witnesses, therefore it is difficult to prove my case.

It's now 2013, my items were never recovered. Mr. Mucci said he was bonded and insured, but never asked me if either item was recovered. As a customer I am appalled! I caution, please do your due diligence before you hire a cleaning service ~ especially a service that does NOT have the same team members (for every cleaning)."
