Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We took a beef In to have butchered and 15 lbs was to be made into dried beef .When we went to pick up the meat they said the dried beef would be another week we paid for the processing and took our hamburger home,a week went by and I went to pick it up they told me it wasn't cut and wrapped he would do it on monday and deliver it to our home. We waited for over a week and I called again he said it would be delivered on the following thursday still no beef.We went to the processing plant the following monday when they proceded to tell us they couldn't find it and the owner was gone we left our phone number but he has yet to call us.We called today and owner has not yet returned our call and I suppose we won't hear from him at all.

  • I agree with the certified letter idea here. You can make reference to this claim in the letter, and make your suggestion as to how they can fix this situation for you. If they cannot find your product, and cannot fix the situation with a comparable product (other dried beef, not necessarily from the beef you brought in), they should be trying to at least put you back in the position you were in prior to your business transaction.

  • You have quite a beef over your beef here.

    Don't hire an attorney. Thats the dumbest suggestion i've every heard. You'd spend 100x what you're seeking and probably end up with nothing.

    The butcher needs to call you and make this right. No excuse for not contacting you and reimbursing you for the beef. thats the meat of the issue. Ok thats bad, sorry. Worst case your claim will warn others about these butchers....

  • Perhaps you should write a certified letter to the owner. Explain all details dates and timelines. If after 5 days the owner doesn't respond. Than hire a attorney to write a demand letter. All attorney fees should now be included in your demand letter.
