Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I called myself trying to find the best home warranty co. Select came in #2 . so I called got great plan so I thought. but you get what up pay for. Anyway they charged $399 free roof repair. TO THIS DAY IVE SUBMITTED 5 CLAIMS ,NONE ARE RESOLVED. THEY CANT EVEN GET CONTRACTORS TO ASSIST YOU. THEN THEY ASK YOU TO EMAIL A PICTURE OF THE PARTICULAR ITEM;. OKAY SENT A PELLET STOVE, A MAN DID SHOW UP;. BUT HE WORKED ON COOKING STOVE. AINT HEARD FROM SELECT ON THAT. CALLED ON CEILING FAN. NO RESULTS. BUT THE LAST STRAW MY ROOF AFTEWR A SEVERE STORM LEAKED CALLED, THEY SENT ME A NUMBER TO CALL. THE CONTRACTOR NEVER CALLED BACK. SO THEY ASKED TO FIND MY ON CONTRACTOR, BUT FOR THEM TO CALL THEM BEFORE THEY DID ANY WORK, HE DID THEY TOLD HIM TO GO AHEAD, THAT I WOULD PAY HIM, AND THEY WOULD REIMBURST ME. HE FIXED THE ROOF I PAID HIM CALLED SELECT, THEY TOLD ME TO EMAIL THE BILL. I DID THREE TIMES , FINAULLY THEY GOT IT AND TOLD ME THE CLIAMS OFFICE WOULD EMAIL ME. AFTER A WEEK THEY EMAILED I WASNT COVERED. LOOKS LIKE WE THE CONTRACTOR CALLED AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM, THEY SHOUYLDVE KNOWN THEN IF IT WAS COVERED AN I WOULD DECIDE FOR MYSELF WHAT ROUTE I WOULD TAKE. THEY OWE ME $300. I HAD HSW BEFORE NEVER HAD THE THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS. WHO ASKS YOU TO SEND PICTURES OF THE APPLIANCES BEFOR THEY DO ANYTHING;. I COULD SEE IF THEY HAD THEIR OWN TECHNICIANS"

    I have the same problem with this company, Select Home Warranty. I made a claim June 1, 2017 and I am still trying to get my AC fixed. I suggest a class action. They have deceived so many consumers, I dont understand how they are still in business More...

  • My husband and I got the home warranty plan for the house we moved in.

    We had an issue with our well pump. First they opened the wrong claim which was a waste of waiting time because they had to start all again with a new claim and wait another 24-48h for their 'response'.

    Passed time and I called again for an update, they said they can't find any contractor for us (really? in Wyoming?) So they said I can look for a contractor myself but I had to get approval for the contractor. The company representative in addition told we could have their authorization department on the phone to talk with the technician to get the diagnotic and approval.

    Well, it was too good to be true. Technician came, I called 'Select Home Warranty' and the representative that answered refused to proceed with what their company had suggested me to do.

    The technician had to back to the office (so one day lost). The technician made the favor to call the 'Select Home Warranty' and they told that authorization takes another 24-48h.

    End of history: Our first contact with this company to have the water pump fixed was on Monday around 8:30am, today it's Wednesday and no water in the house in addition to be on hold on a call with Select Home Insurance for over 1h listening to their music.

    Sure they were pretty efficient to sell and issue the contract for us to sign but when it comes to use their service, so far I'm disappointed and surprised how a company doesn't have somebody from the authorization department to get my call and leave me over 1h on the phone and worst, leave the house for days without water.
