Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I helped my, now ex-girlfriend, Sarah Delgado, to buy a car by co-signing for it.  After going our separate ways, which I will explain in more detail to the lawyer / court, she totaled the car.  She immediately stopped payments, and refused to have her insurance company handle anything, for the sole purpose using the finance company, and now the insurance company of the person she hit, as a weapon to do as much damage to my credit rating as possible.  She dose not care who she hurts in the process. The only way to get these people the money they are owed, is to take Sarah Delgado to small claims court. I am working with both companies. trying to get them payments. Sarah Delgado needs to be held responsible for her actions.
She owes close to $11,000.00 between the two."

  • I don't quite understand. The car was insured but because Sarah Delgado isn't cooperating with the insurance company, they haven't made the payout to the finance company so that the loan is eliminated? Is that correct?

As a co-signer you should have some rights to negotiate with the insurance company, surely?
