Claimant says:
"I parked my car on an unmarked curb location on Alum Rock Avenue in San Jose at approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday June 8, 2016. There was a sign in front of where I parked that said: No Parking from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. so I logically assumed other times were okay.

My car was towed away because the police report said I was obstructing traffic. My case number is: 16-160-0550. I registered a protest with a hearing officer at the police department but was told the officer who issued the citation used her judgment to determine that my car was obstructing traffic and had it towed. I was also told there was no appeal or opportunity to have a hearing before a judge.

This issue cost me over $500.00 and considerable inconvenience. I took pictures of the curb that I parked on and the sign which indicated I could legally park there.

  • Also, could claimant pls upload their photo of the sign above the parking space.  And could San Jose Police pls comment on why the car was towed and if they space is in fact a legitimate parking for the afternoon as claimant states?
