Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I have been misled and lie to buy Shifty sales practices and no response to my complaints . I received an unsolicited sales call from one of their representatives in their South Florida sales office On January 4, 2014. Somehow they were aware of the timeshares I own in Mexico and in New York City. They assured me that they could be rented for high-value very quickly since they represented mostly corporate clients. I was told that within 60 to 90 days I would have checks in my hand. They promptly charged my account for $2499 to advertise and rent my property. According to my contract PTR was to forward all inquiries directly to me. When month passed and I had not heard from them I called and was told that there were many many inquiries and they were in the process of following them up and I should have money in my hands very soon. The customer service number they have is not very reliable. Sometimes it rings and rings without anyone picking it up other times I'm disconnected. Shortly thereafter I was contacted by Mr.Etayo And was told that the South Florida office was closed and their central corporate office took over my account. I was then again assured that there were many inquiries on my property and that they were in the process of following up. Nearly a month went by I still did not receive any inquiries regarding my property. Frustrated with their phone system I emailed the manager and ask for a full refund for failure to fulfill their contract. Weeks went by and I had no response. I finally emailed them again to tell them I was filing a formal complaint. The manager emailed me back as a response saying he would call me the following day. The following day came and went and there was no phone call and no follow-up email from him. I emailed him one more time to give him one more chance. And the only response I get is a message left on my recorder asking to call him. Trying to call him again was very frustrating and I was disconnected by the operator. It seems to me this whole process This is a sham from beginning to end. I think they only want to talk on the phone so that they cannot have anything in writing that I can use. Verbally they promise everything. And there is no follow-up no action no fulfillment of any promises. I will not be satisfied until I am given a full refund. Additionally it seems like the state of Florida should revoke their license for deceptive sales practices"
