The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

    "The claimant stated that she had called the dealership in March 2010 to find out what could be done about her issue. At the time there was not a warranty extension for this problem issued by American Honda. The warranty extension for this problem was issued April 3, 2010 so there was no wrong-doing on the part of the dealership. The protocol of taking pictures of a customer's vehicle was not in place at the time that she originally called Prime Honda. There was no valid warranty on her vehicle at the time that she called the dealership due to the age of the vehicle and there was no way for Prime Honda to know that a warranty extension would be released a month after Mrs. Roberts had called."

  • "Prime Honda contacted Honda's district representative about the issue with Mrs. Roberts' vehicle. They offered her a 90% coverage which most people would consider to be more than reasonable. This would have left her to pay only about $140 out of pocket to repair her paint issue. Mrs. Roberts declined the offer! This is not an issue between Mrs. Roberts and Prime Honda but rather Mrs. Roberts and American Honda Motors. This claim should certainly not reflect negatively on Prime Honda!"

  • Honda Prime is being dishonest in their response. They say that the warranty extension for this problem was not issued until April 3, 2010. This is false information. Honda put out service bulitin 08-031 on May 21, 2008 which extended the waranty on the pay to 7 years and unlimited miles. The following link links to the service builitin in question.
