Claimant says:
"I recently made a business transaction with the Palmistry institute run by Vernon Mahabal.  I sent a post-dated check for the services and made sure I told him that it was imperative that the date be followed.  He neglected to do so and now my account is in the red due to his negligence.  Since then, we've had phone conversations in which he lied to me repeatedly.  I told him that I don't want his services and to send me a refund VIA money wire to my account and he was non-compliant.  He claims that he is sending me a check.  From the little I know from the back and forth that we had together, I trust this man no more that Eve in the garden of Eden.  Also I researched his "business" since this incident took place and I found that neither he (Vernon Mahabal) or the Palmistry Institute of Los Angeles has a license to practice business at all.  I know I should have looked this up beforehand.  But would please forward the tax license information to the IRS.  I will do the same.  Thank you."

  • My credit score dropped 20 points due to the negligent cashing of a check I told Vernon Mahabal to wait to cash until next month. Damages have gone up to $500 in addition to the $125 owed to me. The "business" is SO incompetent and or most likely fraudulent that they cashed my check immediately when I specifically told them not once, not twice, but at least three times to wait until May and they agreed. Just so there is no confusion "they" is Vernon Mahabal. This Vernon Mahabal refused to give me my refund VIA money wire which is what I asked for. He claims to be sending me cash in the mail express. That was 4 days ago. NEVER ARRIVED!. Corporate Watchdogs: Keep a close eye on this one. He's practicing without a license and is most likely more than that.

    The Company did send me $125 cash in the mail. I'm weary that it may be counterfeit based on his business practices. Even if it's not, I will not consider this case closed. I still demand the damages in the amount of $500 for ruining my credit score and standing with my bank.

    Vernon Mahabal with the Palmistry Institute. I took the money he gave me to the store to make sure it was not counterfeit. It was not. But he did not pay me for the $20 bounce fee that he was supposed to. Again, that fee was cause by his negligence. I realized he only gave me $105 instead of the $125 he owes me. Not to mention the $500 in damages.
