Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"MY 87 YEAR OLD MOTHER, MARY H. KONCSOL HAS BEEN DEATHLY ILL AND CONTINUES TO BE OUT OF THE HOME FOR OVER 11 WEEKS. PART OF THIS TIME, SHE WAS AT MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER (ATLANTIC HEALTH SYSTEM) FOR PULMONARY CARE TREATMENT. MY MOTHER'S LOWER DENTURES WERE LOST WHILE THERE. THE CLAIM I FILED ON BEHALF OF MY MOTHER WAS DENIED BY KATHLEEN MOORE-BURWELL, RN, BS.

HERE IS THE REASON GIVEN: "THE CONSENT TO TREATMENT FORM, WITH YOR SIGNATURE...RECOMMENDS THAT ALL PERSONAL BELONGINGS AND VALUABLES SHOULD NOT REMAIN WITH A PATIENT..."

ANY CONTRACT IMPLIES REASONABLE EXPECTATION. IT IS ALTOGETHER UNREASONABLE, IMPRUDENT, AND UNSAFE TO HAVE A PATIENT DO WITHOUT THE DENTURES NECESSARY FOR A PATIENT TO EAT! THIS LINE OF LOGIC (ACTUALLY CONTRA-LOGIC) IS ABSURD!

THIS IS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE THAT WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY IN WHICH HONESTY, COURTESY, AND RESPONSIBILITY HAVE BEEN WOEFULLY COMPROMISED IN PURSUIT OF THE ALMIGHT DOLLAR. INDEED, "THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL."

TO EVEN RECEIVE A LETTER OF CLAIM PAYMENT DENIAL BASED ON SUCH SPURIOUS RATIONALE IS LUDICROUS. IT IS UNETHICAL IN ITS PURPOSE AND ILLEGAL IN ITS REASONING.

I NOT ONLY EXPECT FULL PAYMENT OF THE DENTURES LOST (THROWN OUT) WHILE AT THE MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER BUT I ALSO EXPECT A LETTER OF APOLOGY. OTHERWISE, I PLAN TO TAKE MY CAUSE PUBLIC VIA THE MANY MEDIA VENUES AVAILABLE TO ME. I WILL ALSO BE PERSONALLY SENDING OUT ELECTRONIC MAIL TO POLITICIANS, PHYSICIANS, PUBLICATION MANAGERS, EMPLOYERS, AND FRIENDS OF MY MOTHER AND OUR FAMILY.

THIS TYPE OF SANITIZED CRIME HAS GONE ON FAR TOO LONG! AMERICA'S CITIZENRY CAN NO LONGER BE SILENT. SUCH SILENCE CAN ONLY FOSTER CONTINUED DESPOTISM AND TRAMPLING OF OUR GUARANTEED RIGHTS UNDER THE LAW OF THE LAND. IF WE ALLOW
SUCH INJUSTICE TO CONTINUE REGARDLESS OF ITS LEVEL- FEDERAL, STATE, MUNICIPAL, OR CORPORATE, WE WILL NOT ONLY BECOME POOR FOOLS BUT ALSO INDENTURED SLAVES WHO HAVE FORFEITED THEIR UNALIENABLE RIGHTS.

SHAME ON YOU MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER/ATLANTIC HEALTH SYSTEM. I HAD HOPED TO BE TRUE THE RUMOR THAT ATLANTIC HEALTH SYSTEM WAS GOING TO PURCHASE HACKETTSTOWN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER. HOWEVER, I CAN NO LONGER HOLD TO THIS POSITION AFTER WITNESSING YOUR HORRENDOUS PATIENTS RIGHTS PROTOCOL AND AND SORDID PRIORITY LEVEL CONCERNING YOUR MODE OF OPERATION."

  • Please, write letters to senators and others with your complaints against Morristown Medical Center - I plan to do likewise for issues I have with them. Also, file a complaint with the NJ Board of Health, acute care facilities. When I directed my complaint to the hospital, I too, got no satisfaction, just a letter full of lies. Good luck to you!

  • Usually, when a form refers to personal belongings or valuables, it is usually interpreted as something such as jewelry or something like that, not necessarily something, that while of a personal nature, is something that is medical necessary (in this case, for someone to eat). Because you have a decision denying the claim from someone in the hospital already, perhaps finding out if there is some form of appeal procedure that you can take advantage of to appeal this decision may help your situation. If there isn’t an appeal process in place, perhaps writing a letter referencing the decision to the board of directors or management of the hospital will help you get some resolution.
