Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Had new tires installed and they damaged two wheels in the process. They called me a liar, said the damage did not happen there. I am positive that they did do the damage. They offered me 50 dollars the first time and the second attempt they offered to buy one wheel. Not satisfied with that. Need help."

    In response to Mr. Gregory Johnston's complaint, Claim # 1645686-207334 filed on December 12, 2012. This is to inform Peopleclaim.com that we have made numerous attempts to try and resolve the issue with Mr. Johnston with no resolution in this matter. On October 15th, 2012 Mr. Johnston brought his Ford F150 into Marysville Tire & Auto where we replaced four tires on his vehicle. At this time Mr. Johnston did not display or express at any dissatisfaction with the service he had received on his vehicle. It was not until October 23rd, 2012, 8 days after the service had already been completed that Marysville Tire & Auto received a phone call from Mr. Johnston. In speaking with Mr. Johnston he claimed that we had damaged 2 of his wheels when the new tires were mounted. We asked him to please bring his vehicle by the store so we could take a look at the wheels and when he arrived he showed us markings that looked as though they could have been a blemish of some kind on two of the four wheels. After looking at the location of the blemishes we explained to Mr. Johnston that it would've been impossible for us to have caused these imperfections during the replacement of the tires on his vehicle. We also explained to Mr. Johnston that our equipment never touches or comes near the face of the wheel during this process which is where the imperfections were located. We also tried to explain to Mr. Johnston that the damage could've possibly been caused due to road debris, a defect in manufacturing, or even years of wear and tear. After explanation of how our equipment could not have caused these blemishes Mr. Johnston still insisted that we had damaged two of his wheels. We expressed to Mr. Johnston that we would check into his concerns and would get back to him with what we could do to remedy the situation. We then called Mr. Johnston the very next day and explained to him that in the interest of customer satisfaction and hopes of resolving this matter we would buy one wheel and he could buy the second wheel at our cost. We also informed him that we would mount and balance the wheels at no cost to him. After explaining this to Mr. Johnston he informed us that he would have to get back to us. Since then Mr. Johnston never responded as he stated that he would concerning this matter. Please let it be known that Mr. Johnston was at no time ever called a liar. We are sorry that he was offended by the offer presented to him but, any issue with a customer is always handled in a professional and courteous manner. It is our hope that Mr. Johnston would accept our previous offer as we feel we are being more than generous in trying to resolve this matter.

  • Seeing as how the respondent has already responded to this claim, this seems like a potential settlement that would be in the best interests of both parties. Because this wasn’t damage that was readily evident and discovered after the fact, it very well could have been the explanations that were provided by the respondent that caused the damage. The respondent seems to be interested in some form of settlement to make sure the claimant is happy, and when there is no proof that the damage was caused by the respondent, the suggested settlement seems like a good compromise.
