Claimant says:
"I bought a volkswagen beetle 2002 used as is on Friday November the 2nd 2012. It ran hot the same day I got it. I called back but he was gone for the day. I brought the vehicle back Saturday and another guy said the owner gone out of town so I left the car there due to I couldn't drive it. I went back Monday Morning, he sent his sincere and advised that he will find out the issue with the car so he called Tuesday and said the car was fixed and it was ready it ran hot that Tuesday. When I got it back took it back to him Wednesday morning and he called Thursday and said the water pump is about to go out and I have to pay 400 dollors out my pocket to get it fixed which I don't have it, I'm a college student full time and work part time so I asked could I just have my down payment back 1000. He advised me that I was not getting my money back so I feel that's not right, I have had the car 24 hours before it tore up on me, not even a full week I haven't even enjoyed the car not one bit, that's the reason I'm filing a complaint I really would just like my 1000 back and just go some where else because times is hard and it's not my fault he sold me a raggedy car and I know he knew that the car was no good. I really need help with this situation please... Thanks"

  • The key words in your description, unfortunately, “as is.” In the state of Georgia, the lemon laws only apply to new cars. When you buy a used car in an as is condition, inspecting the car to see if there are repairs needed is up to you as the buyer.
