Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased a 2005 Nissan Maxima from Koons Nissan in Falls Church, VA, August 30, 2011. Since the purchase, I have experienced several severe problems with the car, including the first day off the lot, the car left me stranded. The car would not start back up after sitting in a parking lot for only an hour. I took it back to the dealership after I got it to start again and had them look at it. They said they couldn't find the problem. WHY didn't they make this right then, instead of sending me off again In this Lemon? It stalled out again a few weeks later, so I had it towed back to the dealership. I spoke to Susan Larkin-Padgett at the dealership and they charged me for the tow and still could not find the problem. Why did I get charged for this problem? The car left me stranded yet again, this time the dealership kept the car overnight & said it was a "Security problem" but they couldn't fix it or turn it off. Since I've had this lemon of a car, it has left me stranded numerous times! Totally unacceptable, especially since I was ACTIVE DUTY with the US Marines! I needed a Dependable car to get me to work! Six months after having the car, I started having serious transmission problems. I have several documented papers proving my claim and trips to the dealership to resolve this issue, with no resolve from this dealership. Basically, they sold me a piece of crap LEMON car and took advantage of my first car ownership! I have since moved to New Mexico this summer and the transmission has been slipping and acts up. The car broke down in the middle of a busy highway merge lane in Albuquerque. The car had to be towed yet AGAIN. I had a mechanic look at the car and run a diagnostic on it. The car was sold with MULTIPLE safety concerns, Including: 1.) A fist size hole rusted through the passenger front floor pan. NOTE from the mechanic in NM: "I had a chance to put the Nissan in the air and have a look at it in detail. The reason why the serpentine belt broke is because the bearing in the A/C compressor locked, putting a new belt on wouldn't last more than a few moments. With that I didn't replace the other belt, not sure what you are planning for the car, as it will need a new A/C pump and the idler pulley also has a bit of play in it as well. The oil leak appears to be coming from the oil filter adapter. I'll take an educated guess and say that it's a thermostatic valve for the cooler and it looks like where it's dripping is from where it is attached to the block."
That is just a few of the problems.
I want this RESOLVED ASAP. I have taken a huge loss on this car. It has put me in danger, not only with my position on base, but now with my safety on the road and getting to work & school.
I want my money back, or at least compensated for my loss. This car is completely not safe to drive & a waste of money to fix for the price I was charged.
The dealership should have made good on this sale & put me in a different car after I made the first attempt to bring it back, not very good business practice."
