Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"i have tried this product for one day i broke out in hives and welts all over my body, then my lips swelled to the point i thought i was gonna be in the hospital. as the week went on i got sicker and sicker. I eneded up in the hospital for 4 days with a bad viral liver infection. I have ni insurence and i am the main money maker in my family. I am out of work for about 6 weeks due to the swelling of the liver and week to where i cant stand. I dont want this to happen to anyone else its not fun to b this sick. I an 47 yrs old and havent been six for 27yrs i. i always take care of myself that is why i tried the product. thank u Debra Mayhill"

    We are very sorry to hear about the situation you described on PeopleClaim.com on Saturday, January 21 and reported to us separately via email on the same day.

    Based on the limited information you have provided us thus far, and the fact we are not aware of any similar events involving our product since its introduction almost 19 years ago, we do not believe the events you report can be attributed to our product.

    Nonetheless, we want to continue to thoroughly investigate your claim.

    To summarize where we stand:

    1) You have been contacted by a senior representative of our product development and customer care staff (who is a Ph.D. in Food Sciences); and you discussed your situation with him this past Wednesday, January 25.

    2) We appreciate you clarifying with him what your doctor actually said to you. We understand now that your doctor spoke to you about his concern that supplements in general are not FDA regulated, and often imported from another country. We were pleased to be able to advise you that our product is in fact regulated by the FDA, and made here in the United States.

    3) We were also pleased to report to you that our product is evaluated and certified by NSF International, an independent, not-for-profit public health and safety resource. Since 1944, NSF has evaluated and certified products and written standards that protect water, food, air and other consumer products, including dietary supplements (www.NSF.org).

    4) Our representative requested a copy of your hospital discharge summary, which would allow us to initiate an outside medical review of your claim.

    5) We have not received this hospital paperwork from you as of the writing of this response. Please send us a copy of this paperwork at your earliest opportunity.

    You have our mailing address, as well as a direct dial telephone number in the event you have any additional questions. As soon as we receive this paperwork, we can begin the next step in our investigation.

    In the meantime, we certainly hope you're feeling better. Please let us know if there is anything else you think we can do to help resolve your complaint.
