Claimant's opinion: My $1,300 claim is the difference between what I paid to Jordan River Moving & Storage and the quote I received from a different moving company.
Claimant's opinion: The fact that the owner of Jordan River Moving & Storage refuses to even discuss my claim is glaring evidence of their unprofessionalism. I've never been treated in such a disrespectful, demeaning manner.
I moved out of my residence in Bellevue on August 30, 2011 to have new carpeting installed on Aug. 31 because my tenant moved in on September 1, 2011. You claim that JRMS picked up "a few items left behind after pickup, in addition to a few boxes Ms. Christensen wanted to add to her shipment" on September 2, 2011 - I WASN'T EVEN THERE. The only time JRMS came back to pick up the items they neglected to pack the morning of Aug. 30 was THAT SAME AFTERNOON. They left a floor lamp, wood curtain rods, glass inserts to a sofa table, all of which were in clear view in the livingroom and should have been loaded on the truck with all of my other things. You say my shipment "was delivered well within 21 days of her first available ready date". I arrived at my new home on Sept. 7, 2011 and my furniture was delivered just hours before that guaranteed 21 day delivery date. I hardly think that can be considered "well within" the 21 day guaranteed arrival. You say "we promptly put them on the next truck going to her area" . . . The items they neglected to pick up on Aug. 30 were not delivered until October 27 - THREE WEEKS AFTER THE INITIAL DELIVERY. That isn't "prompt", that's LATE by anyone's definition. You say "we did not lie about anything" but if you'll take time to read the correspondence I sent you, you'll see that I had creditable proof that you lied about almost everything. As for my claim for $1,300 . . . that doesn't even begin to cover the damage to my furniture and the items that are still missing. My claim has to do with the disrespectful, rude, behavior of your foreman and the obvious careless handling of my belongings. I was assured a "professional" move and compared to the two cross country moves I made previously, the move by JRMS did not qualify in any way as "professional". For instance, when I opened the wardrobe boxes, I found three garment bags that had been thrown in the boxes, one on top of the other, instead of being hung on the rods, which is the purpose of wardrobe boxes. If my furniture had been handled professionally, the back of my china cabinet would not have been punctured all the way through. My headboard would not have incurred a large scratch, and I would not (still) be mmissing several boxes, which I believe were taken by someone at JRMS. That's the only explanation I can come up with since the boxes that are missing are NOT the ones picked up the afternoon of Aug. 30 - the missing boxes were loaded on the truck the morning of Aug. 30 with the rest of my things. My responses to your comments are detailed very specifically in the correspondence I sent you, so there should not be any question as to who is lying.
"In regards to the complaint filed by Mrs. Christensen, I would like to clear up a few things. Mrs. Christensen stated to us that we never came out to her home a second time to pickup additional items, this is false, as we sent out our warehouse foreman on September 2, 2011 to pick up a few items left behind after pickup, in addition to a few boxes Mrs. Christensen wanted to add to her shipment. We did not charge for the extra weight added, we let her know, which she was pleased.Mrs. Christensen stated that we were late for delivery. This too is false as we guarantee delivery to take place within 21 days of her first available ready date. Mrs. Christensen was delivered well within that range. Mrs. Christensen called in our office after delivery stating some items were missing. Unfortunately, the additional items picked up after delivery were left on the truck and was brought back to our warehouse. We promptly put them on the next truck going to her area and delivered those items. Mrs. Christensen called our office November 17, 2011 at 1:15am and left a frantic voicemail stating she was missing her digital memory cards and DVD’s of an important trip she went on. We performed an intensive search, called other customers who were also on the truck for deliveries and nothing was found. She then later emailed us to let us know she found them in a small box in with her Christmas items. Mrs. Christensen also stated she had some damages which she was then referred to our claims department. In the end, we performed a service for Mrs. Christensen, went out of our way to pick up additional items at no additional charge, delivered her in a timely manner and most importantly we did not lie about anything. Please know, Mrs. Christensen cannot request a dollar amount of her choosing as she must follow through with the claims process for proper resolve."
