Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I have had their internet and phone service for a little over two weeks.  The user name given by the installer didn't work.  I got a second set of names by calling but that only worked for one day.  A second call provided a user name and password which I've been able to use to send emails but the standard email program on Windows 10 will not send emails.  I've spent about two hours on the phone trying to get problems resolved.  I have difficulty hearing which makes it difficult to solve problems over the phone.  Their email and live chat doesn't work.  It just sends a message indicating they will respond within 24 hours which they don't.  I also have phone line service.  The light, on the ATA, blinks yellow which indicates a problem but there seems to be no way to find the problem on their web site.
In spite of their advertising of free installlation, I had to pay over $400 for installation.  I've called the insstaller, Transit Satellite LLC of Ignacio, CO but they never returned my call.  There seems to be no way of resolving problems with this company. They want to do everything over the phone and not in writing.  I want to cancel their service but there seems to be no way to contact them in writing.

  • I received a letter from Darron Williams of HughesNet which indicated that the email service was fully functional. It still doesn't work all the time under
    Windows10. He didn't address the problem with the phone service. The light keeps blinking which indicates something wrong but their website won't let me sign in to that service. The breakups, while using the phone is annoying.

  • Hughesnet service is marginal. I also have a Verizon Jetpack for internet connection. The Jetpack seems to provide faster service and less problems with scrolling through emails. They have no trial period so your stuck with a large cost to terminate.
