"Rented a unit at Bahia Vista #IW161 from Jan. 1st 20014 to Jan 31st. 20014. My wife and I drive almost 2000 miles arrived at our unit late morning Jan. 1st to an unprepared unit. Door wouldn't latch, no water turned on, no hot water, cable not hooked up, patio door would only open part way (had to walk out side ways), patio furniture stuffed in closet ( so old that a chair broke throwing me to the patio), We had to start making phone calls. We basically made phone calls and complaints and waited for repair menthe 1st week of our vacation. Temperature drop that first week and furnace wasn't working, Furnace man came by end of week and said the furnace was a mess. The furniture was so old we had a hard time getting out of chairs and couches. I was sitting the 2nd morning having coffee and sat back in one of their rotting chairs when it flipped backward my head hitting the door wall and the coffee spilling over me. We asked the Management company for a one week refund. Both the owners and Horse & Chaise have refused. THE OWNERS SAID THINGS WERE TAKEN CARE IN A TIMELY MANNER, YES OUR TIME! We did a lot of phoning and waiting that first week. We were the first renter of the year. We feel the unit should have been checked for water, heat, hot water, and outdated, uncomfortable furniture before we arrived. Would you please look into this problem. We live in Minnesota and know a lot of people who vacation in Florida. We liked the Venice area but unless things are straightened out we would not recommend the Horse & Chaise.
