Claimant says:
"On July 12th, 2014 I went into the Hair Lounge store. My mother who lives in Provincetown Mass, who is 67 is suffering from Lung Cancer. She does not have very much money and has been undergoing Chemotherapy and radiation for her Cancer.
I wanted to buy her a wig because it was her birthday and she has been VERY depressed at the loss of her hair. The real hair wigs in the store range from 100.00 - 300.00 dollars.
I explained to the Asian women that my mom had lost her hair, due to cancer treatments, that she did not live in Syracuse and I specifically asked "what if she doesn't like it? Can I return or exchange it?" I was told that I couldn't return for my money back, but I could exchange it, within 14 days. I also purchased a wig cap to wear under the wig.
When my mom received the wig she opened the cap, placed on her head, then placed the wig on her head. The wig did not fit her well, so she decided to send it back.
Today 7/25 I went into the store to exchange the wig and was told by the manager that basically I could not exchange the wig, or receive my money back. If I wanted a new wig I would have to buy one. I explained to him what I had been told by the women who was at the store, who said she remembered me, but was not allowed by the manager to speak with me. After about 10 minutes of trying to resolve with the manager I left the store, with no resolve. They basically lied to me and now I am out $114.24 for the wig I purchased."
