Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I had a bad experience with Greyhound. I purchased a ticket for $12.00 to be transported from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Detroit, Michigan on January 28, 2014. Departure time was 4:20pm with arrival in Detroit at 7:40pm. I had a flight from Detroit at 5:55am on January 29 to Chicago and a connecting flight from Chicago to Nashville, TN at 7am. Arrival in Nashville was 8:27am. The package I purchased was $417.23. On January 28 the scheduled bus was delayed due to weather conditions, but the staff at the bus station assured passengers several times that the bus was still scheduled to come. The explanation was that the bus had a problem in Muskegon and was being towed, but would arrive shortly. This went on until 11:00pm when the staff at Greyhound station went home. A security person finally phoned and was informed that the bus driver had decided no one would be at the Grand Rapids stop as he was very (7 hours) late, so instead of checking he bypassed Grand Rapids leaving those waiting in Grand Rapids stranded! I am appalled that a bus driver can just skip a stop to meet his own needs. This is unacceptable! This has cost me $799.35 in flight cost, rental car, fees, and missed hotel reservations. I have had to rebook a more expensive flight as last minute bookings are more expensive! I expect Greyhound to reimburse my lost expense as it was their negligence which caused loss.

Costs are:
Greyhound ticket: $12.00
Flight ticket and rental car: $417.23
Hotel: $284.17
Additional cost for rebooking flight: $85.95 (original flight $417.23, new flight: $503.18)

Total: $799.35
Greyhound refunded the $12 ticket and $85.95 for the rebooking fee, but their negligence cost me much more, so I expect reimbursement for the missed flight.
I would appreciate a response as to how to proceed with this incident. Thanks.
