Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Good afternoon my name is Claude Brown and my son Jquwan Brown was attending Grace Academy for 3 to 4 years when he first got into the school I was not in his life he was living with his great-aunt but once I find out that is mom passed away I go to court to get custody of him and it was a long process and as of August 2016 I was given custody of him and immediately came to the school to meet the teachers the principal and even the owner Miss Chantal who is the reason I'm making this complaint today because she feel because it's a private school she have no one to answer to in 2017 I don't know if the great-aunt had a conversation with the principal and Miss Chantel all I know is that was a statement made to me from the principal and immediately they drop some paper trying to expel him from the school they started treating him like a criminal and I notice so I set up a meeting with the principal and Miss Chantal the meeting took place at the old location in Opa-locka and me and the principal was in her office and Miss Chantel what's on speaker phone and they started telling me things that he was doing so I asked them why all of a sudden y'all trying to expel him from school and I come here every morning and every evening and he hasn't been getting in any trouble actually I have been told that since I came into his life he has really improved and we commend you but not this day this day I was told that we are not going to be held accountable if he touch someone kid so I asked a question where's this coming from why all of a sudden you're saying this did you find out something that made you decide to treat him different I told her you know that's illegal anyting that you find out by him being a juvenile and you shared with someone else you can really get in a lot of trouble because he hasn't his own attorney and I will be letting her know about this conversation so after I said this the principal and Miss Chantal started speaking Creole and I stated excuse me that is very disrespectful why would you be speaking a language that I don't speak or even understand all three of us are having a conversation started speaking Creole and I stayed it screws me that is very disrespectful why would you be speaking a language that I don't speak started speaking Creole and I stayed it screws me that is very disrespectful why would you be speaking a language that I don't speak or even understand all three of us I have in this conversation not just y'all two so the principal apologize but that day they draw paperwork to expel him but I wouldn't sign it soon as I leave the office I called his attorney Miss Shanika grave and she must have called them to find out what was going on so the next day the principal called me in and they put him on a 90-day probation. That he couldn't get in to anything and he had to see the counselor that was at the school and her name was Miss India and me and my son would have a meeting with her she would meet with him every week and every two weeks I will have to come in to sit down and talk with her as well and he would tell her that the teachers and the principal a lot of students to treat him any kind of way and they just wouldn't say anything I didn't find this out until I recently talk to Miss India after she expelled him this year of 2018 because he's so called was chasing a student around the room but he was the only one of the students that got suspended that day and end up getting expelled the following week they would not let him back in school until I had a meeting which was set up 6 days later and in the meeting that was three people Miss Chantal another gentleman and another lady and the man I have never seen before the lady I started seeing her maybe 2 months before this meeting coming into the meeting I found out something that really upset at me because no one told me about it and it had that happen in the beginning of the school year when miss Sanchez was there so I asked a question why didn't anyone notify me that a teacher told another student to hit my son with a broomstick after I made that statement seem like everyone got upset they told me that that did happen but it wasn't my son it happened with so I say to them that's not what I heard I heard that mr. Colts told a other student to hit my son with a broom stick and she states to me again it wasn't your son that it happened with but it did happen and the teacher was reprimanded so I asked her so what's the reason we're here today she said on Thursday jquwan came down and I told him that he was suspended so I asked her did you find out what was the reason why he came down she stated to me that she did not address it she just sent him home so I stayed it to her isn't this the same teacher that told another student to hit him with a broomstick and did you even ask my son what happened that day she told me no so I I said to her as a principal or owner you are obligated to find out everything that went on before you make a harsh decision she said the teacher sent him down and that was enough the guy that was there gave me a story of something that happened the same day he told me that there was 4 guys that told him that my son was going to use a rubber band with tax to either throw it at them or attempt to throw it at them he said he said I quote I took their statement and then I went to you are son and your son said that didn't happen so I sent him back to class so I said to the gentleman that that didn't even make any sense either he did threw it at him or he didn't so I asked both of them why is it that y'all at law students to bully students and do not address the matter why do y'all allow students to call other students gay faget Sissy and even a teacher stated that to him and it was never a dress and I told them at that point that I was recording that I didn't want anything to be said and for someone to come back and say that they didn't say it so right then they stopped the meeting and stated that he was no longer welcome at the school Miss Chantel and the gentleman lied to the police try to get me arrested told them that I was threatening them but this is the tactic that schools use to make them self look right but remember I said I was recording and soon as I stopped recording I called a officer to ask him what should I do I didn't know at the time that they had already called the police and lied saying that I threaten them I had two other kids that was attending the school 1 with a 4.0 and the other one with a 3.8 the same day that Jquwan went down to the office that was a situation happen with my son Janerio Mr St Louis who works in the office went into his classroom and ask them the straighten his desk he told Mr St Louis that this is the way the teacher put it so because he said that to Mr St Louis he grabbed him by his neck and pulled him out of the classroom and threaten to suspend him yeah my daughter was really upset and she addressed it to both of them and they got upset that she called me at home and told me everything that was going on they told her you wasn't supposed to have your phone to even be able to make a call and this was the very first day everything started before we had the meeting and when it comes to the teacher I tried to make a police report but they told me that Miss Chantel States that it didn't happen to my son so is nothing they could do but she know for herself that that was a lie and I find that out later on that day I was looking for my son attorney number and end up calling Miss Sanchez and she states to me mr. Brown it did happen the teacher did tell the student to hit Jquwan with the broomstick she also stated to me that she documented it and put it in the files so I went back to the school and call the police again and told them exactly what the Sanchez told me and I asked them could they get my son folder or a copy of every piece of paper that's in his folder and as a parent I should not be denied that request but they would not give me his paperwork the only paperwork that they gave me was that would draw paper and the shot records until this day she still haven't even gave them that's transcript that the school has been requested so I need to know what is the next step that I need to take thank you my name is Claude Brown my telephone number is 305-244-5040"
