Claimant says:
"I was informed by I believe it was a mirosoft technician, that I needed to get some protection on my computer because of some pop ups I was getting on my computer. They connected me with Genius Technologies LLC. They said that my network was compromised and that my account were being accessed. The person I was communicating with told me that he would provide me with security for my computer. The technician I was communicating with had a very heavy foreign accent. He convinced me to allow him on to my computer so that he could install some security. This was on 04/21/2017, so the security was installed for $799. Then on 04/23/2017, I decided that I would check on this company on Google. I found out that there were some legal issues against that very company, located in Newark, CA. So I stopped payment on the check I had issued on 04/21/2017 on 04/24/2017. That evening The technician from that company contacted me about the payment, I informed him that I had stopped payment on the check. The technician became very irate and started talking to me angrily threating to shut down my network and lock up my computer. Because I had the phone on speaker, my wife was listening in and she also heard the technician threating me and even used the "F" word. On 04/23/2017, after looking up the company, I decided to reset my computer back to the factory setting. I didn't realize that when I reset my computer, it had wiped out all of the security that this technician had installed. So all this time that I was having trouble with the technician I keeped asking him to get on the computer and wipe out all his security, the reset had already done that, so that upset the technician even more. I finally unplugged my computer and hung up the phone. Before I hung up the phone the technician threatened me with third party action."
