Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Today, 12/21/13 around 1:40, I brought my daughter into this shop to wax her eyebrows and upper lip hair. The person who worked there's name was Suong. She helped my daughter wax, but unfortunately after she finished waxing the eyebrows and upper lip section, we noticed that both her eyelids' skin had peeled off and a little bit on the upper lip also. My daughter’s whole face was very severe, with extreme redness, painful, and burned. This is awful. There were a few customers at the shop that felt sorry for what had happened to my daughter who was only 15 years old. Thankfully, we met a nice customer who happened to be getting hair treatment there who referred to Kim's Salon to get an ointment to put on to keep the redness down. I felt extremely sad to see my daughter in pain. It hurt me. The employees who worked there felt extremely sorry so they gave us the service for free. I don't care about the price and whether or not they gave it to us for free. The point was how they didn't seem to make an effort to care. One of the people who worked there simply stated that there will be scabs and it will be fine over time. They did not make an effort to try to help. The care they showed my daughter was not sincere. Also Suong saw my daughter's face which has some acne, she must know that my daughter has very sensitive skin and should do the waxing gently. If she is professional at waxing, then she should know to be careful around skin with acne since they prove to be more sensitive than other skin types. The other person who worked there even told Suong that she should have been more careful for waxing my daughter's face because she had sensitive skin. This is very unprofessional. This is not the first time my daughter has gotten her eyebrows and upper lip waxed. My daughter has gotten them waxed at San Francisco and other places too. They could tell right away that her skin was sensitive without even needing us to say anything. This place is not a professional one. They did not care about her face at all. I remember recalling one of the workers say, "It is just redness it will become less red later." I know that my daughter's face is not just red. I can tell. Her face's skin had peeled off. I am concerned with Suong's job experience. She doesn't seem to have experience with waxing. I personally get my eyebrows waxed in multiple SF shops, but there was never a problem like the one that occurred to my daughter today. I never knew that this was even possible for skin to be so red and peeled off so much it exposed flesh. This is a bad experience for my daughter and she is afraid of getting her eyebrows or any part of her body waxed now and also for the future. This really affected her."
