Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I was a dish customer for about 16 years, in Michigan, Hawaii and Maryland.
We recently received a upgrade on our receiver., and I signed a contract for 2 years.
3 weeks later, they cancelled the Japanese station, which was one of the main reasons we signed up with them in the first place. My position is that by cancelling the station, they broke our contract, and I should not owe them anything. I cancelled our service on Apr 7, 2018.
They told me that I would still owe them 20.00 and some cents for the next 21 months. I spoke with an attorney, and was told that They did in fact cancel the contract when they cancelled the
Japanese station. As of today, they just billed me for the so called monthly charge as mentioned above.
The Japanese station was an added charge, and not part of their basic lineup.
