Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I attended The Daymond John's Launch Academy with the assumption that I would have the right information to proceed in getting my product to the right place. I paid a total of $26,032.00. There was a lot of information given, but at the end of the seminar I left knowing I did not get what I was looking for. I wanted to license my product, but I got with a company that builds businesses and then finds investors. I felt they were not the company for me and also misleading. I would like my money refunded back to me.

Thank You,

Brenda Dixon-Miller"

I was taken for 20,000 and for no help. I told all of the salesmen I that I had suffered a brain injury and was making bad business decisions. They all told me “they’ve got me” and will turn things around. I didn’t have the money and they ALL said to pull from my 401K and I’d make so much more with their help than the fee for early withdrawal. I told them that was my entire life’s savings. They even tried to figure out how I could max every credit card I owned to upgrade even more. Only a short while after doing all of their recommendations I was “coached” to close my business because it wasn’t a viable business. Now what am I being coached over? Was also told the next level $20,000 and up was a MONEY BACK guarantee and my roommate was there to witness it. They even gave those who joined a special packet with a certificate stating that. Then when I called for the money back guarantee they try to tell me it was for the $2,000 weekend course and they’d give me “some” of that back. Yea, no. Everyone there didn’t get the packet with the certificate in it just those of us at the end who signed up for the next level. The Utah attorney general’s office is doing nothing to stop them from ripping people off. I filed a complaint December, 2016 and my case worker doesn’t even return my calls anymore. I was also told by other people who sell from the stage that Daymond John is well aware of the practices these men have and he doesn’t care. I hope that is not true but the fact that he sells his name and doesn’t monitor, or care, the way the men do business is terrible! Is there a way to be compensated for all of my life savings being swindled? Shenrc223@yahoo.com

Is this a fair resolution?

  • You say that the seminar didn't give you what you were looking for, but did it give you what you were promised? Your complaint mentions that this company was misleading, but does not say how.

It would be helpful if you detailed exactly what you were promised and exactly what you didn't get that you expected to get. That way, it would be easier to see and comment on the fairness of your proposed resolution.

I would imagine that a $26,000 seminar would cover a great many topics, so not covering the licensing aspect alone to your satisfaction wouldn't justify a 100% refund. More details really are essential.
