Background for complaint:

My eldest son obtained an oil field job in Rock Springs, Colorado. He had a choice of living
in a motel/hotel/apartment which would not provide any return or purchase a trailer in which he could eventually have some return on his investment.
His mother and I signed his note on a fifth wheel travel trailer. In a few months his company was bought out by another company and he lost his job.
His mother and I paid his notes for several years.
During that time my youngest son’s son, my grandson was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension (2005). He was in and out of the hospital in intensive care on life support numerous times and had to have surgery at the Salk’s Institute in San Diego.
During that period of time (2010) my youngest son was diagnosed with esophageal adenocarcinoma. He had to have major surgery at M.D. Anderson in Houston. He then underwent chemotherapy but passed away in 2011.
His son, my grandson finally had to have a double lung transplant in Dallas but passed
away during the surgery (2012).
I wrote a letter (2012) stating I would continue to pay for the trailer the best way I could
but did not want any more harassing phone calls from collection agencies.
The next thing I knew they picked the trailer up and sold it at auction. I was turned in to the credit bureau which ruined my credit. Then the harassing calls continued saying I owed $7,000 plus.
The equity I had put into the trailer was gone. As a result I stated I was not going to pay them a dime more based on their actions.
The hospital, burial, med expenses were astronomical. My wife and I are seventy four years old
and are living on a fixed income and are retired. We sold our home and downsized to pay off
expenses incurred.
I am not sure how many collection agencies Citizens have used or how many phone calls I have received over the past five-six years but enough is enough.
This week I received a letter from another Debt Collector hired by RBS Citizens, New Hampshire to collect $7,138.20.

I want my credit re-established and letters/phone calls to cease.
