Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We (my 2 girlfriends and I) stayed on January 26-27 in the Simone room. The hospitality was awful, and we were accused of smoking in the room and lighting a candle, which is false! We were watched like we were 3yr olds. We were scolded by Barbara the next day (check-out day) in the dining area in front of other guest(s). This has never happened ever in any place I have stayed in. We did live by their agreements! I have tried to get my monies refunded and they refuse to do a refund. Therefore, this is my next attempt to recover my monies from them. I have emailed Barbara Reiter, the manager, and she refuses to listen to me and get this resolved by issuing a refund back to my account. I need your help in getting my monies back. My 2 other girlfriends will be glad to state exactly what happened in their own words. One of my girlfriends was celebrating her birthday, in which I payed for this so called relaxation get-a-away for her! It did not turn out that way. I booked this room online and the total price was (including tax of $7.35) was $136.35. When I got to the front desk, I was told it was $148.35. Very misleading here!!"

  • I believe that what I, and my 2 girl friends were accused of is false. We left the room "Simone" in absolutely clean and ready for the next guests. There is no way an "unlit" candle could have have caused damage, they profess to claim. I Will go further with this, if need be.

  • Jun 25, 2018, Boulder Hot Springs (responding party) added:
  • The first we heard about this claim against us from PeopleClaim was in May 2018 and this incident occurred in 2013. The price for two people in Simone's Suite (Room 110) is (and was in 2013) $136.35 which includes breakfast and the taxes. Since you had three people in the room, the charge should've been $159.05 (including the breakfast and taxes) so you were actually undercharged.

  • After researching your claim, while it seems that there is no central state agency that is responsible for licensing hotel or lodging establishments, the Department of Revenue is responsible for making sure proper hotel tax is collected. If you feel that the tax quote was incorrect, you could request an investigation into that through the Department of Revenue. In this situation though, because it is an independent hotel and it seems from the response above that they are not willing to give you any consideration into your treatment at their business, you may unfortunately and ultimately be stuck in this situation as having paid out the money for such an experience. If you continue to be upset with the way you were treated, you can always post reviews or possibly file a complaint with the BBB in addition to what you have already done.
