Claimant says:
"We had a contract that was for $2345.35 with a manager's discount of $1079.89, making the total $1500.00. It was given to us by their Rep. Patrick Power. He disappeared and Donna took over our move. We paid her a $425.00 deposit before they would proceed with the arrangements. From the beginning she was the MOST unprofessional person we have ever dealt with. The night before the moving crew were to be at our house, she called at 10PM and wanted to begin the process over from the beginning. She said Best Movers were not going to honor our contract for $1500.00. In fact she called me a liar and said we never had a contract. After an hour of going back and forth, she agreed they would move all the items on the list which included 20 boxes and 40 items of furniture.

In fact the moving crew did not arrive the next day but the following day. Around 3PM Donna and someone named David called their crew, and told them not to load another piece of furniture. The driver, Ray, told us Donna said they were to tell us that if we wanted the remainder of our items loaded, we would pay them $4000.00. I called Donna back and she began to literally scream at me over the phone. She called me a liar, and would not stop yelling at me. She told me we had a couple of options, neither of which included a refund of our $450.00 deposit. She said we could 1) pay her driver $600.00 and he would take the furniture off the truck and leave it in our driveway 2) they would take what was on the truck to their Ft. Lauderdale warehouse and we would have to come and get it 3) pay them $2000, and they would take the furniture that was on the truck, and leave the rest.

We agreed to pay them $2000, and they left with the portion of our furniture they had already loaded on the truck. It amounted to 25 items - not 60. That was on Tuesday April 1. On Thursday Donna called us and said they were going to refund the $450 deposit that we had charged on our credit card and an additional $250 we had paid for a local move that we had also charged on our credit card because they wanted to avoid the chance that we would dispute these two charges. She said we had to deposit $1450 in cash to their Bank of America account in order to get our furniture in a timely manner. Then we had to have a postal money order for $500 for the delivery driver. I took care of that on Thursday April 3. I asked when the furniture would be delivered, and Donna said they were working on it. I heard that line until Tuesday April 8. Finally after nine days our furniture was delivered.

The move was supposed to cost us $1500.00. That is the amount we contracted for. When all was completed, we had spent an additional $4276.77 in trucks, gasoline, moving men help, additional rent on the rental house for two weeks we had not anticipated and hotel bills. That does not even take into account this move took over three weeks.

This move without a doubt was the worst we have ever experienced, Even the driver in charge of numbering the furniture couldn't keep his numbers straight with what he loaded. It was a total nightmare. I would never in my wildest imagination EVER recommend these people. They acted as if they had a license to treat us any way they wanted. They were horrible! After all this aggravation, we saw a website called "Best Movers of America Rip-Off" I wish we had seen it before we ever called these people."
