Claimant says:
"I tried to explain to BBB a problem I had as a consumer relying on their ratings. A business as A rated Williamsburg Motors poses as a legitimate Dealer of Lincoln Mercury dealers. I owned 3 Fords and brought them to the company for service upon moving to the area. My Grand Marquis had a leak they had fixed a year earlier which leaked again a year later. They only warranty their work a year so my husband agreed to have it done again to the tune of $1200. He asked they save the parts however and return them to him.
Upon picking up the car it was missing parts, not put together and my grandson was unable to drive it off the lot. They then said oops something must have been dropped into the motor and they would fix it. Then they wanted another 2-3000. At Virginia's small claims the judge wanted proof and we didn't even have the car. Kangaroo judge small claims, kangaroo newspaper and apparently kangaroo BBB. BBB says since we went to small claims too bad so sad. Main office of Lincoln Mercury in Grand Rapids says this is not a verified dealer and not to use them yet they hold themselves out as legitimate. One phone call could have told BBB but because they pay BBB dues they get A rating. Don't ever trust the ratings of BBB in Virginia, seems everyone is in bed with everyone here. Small claims court judge, Daily News. and BBB along with the known crooked dealers of Williamsburg, Va. Let the buyers beware and new homeowners."

  • The BBB does not check out companies completely before recommending them. They claim if they have a license they consider them legitamite and recommend them thus proving my case that they are unreliable as a reference for good business practice. The main dealership filed two complaints directly with this company in my behalf. All they had to do was ask this question but it was too much to ask if their had been any consumer complaints against them.
