Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"the owner understands that there may be a cost for a diagnosis of the vehicle's transmission problem but charge such an overwhelming amount is ridiculous. the owner could have purchased a rebuilt transmittion for a $800,00 so why would the owner pay $500. for a mechanic to take out the transmission and not fix anything"

  • I believe the owner of the vehicle failed to comprehend the agreement and what work was involved in removing the transmission then putting it back. The dealership charges twice that amount. I have lived in Lake Station for over 40 years and this shops been here longer than me. I have had 2 vehicles taken here and never had an issue. No business operating in a shady manner would last for over 60 yeas in one location. In both cases I signed the same agreement and understood the work involved in getting to the problem and if I didn't want the car fixed I sure wouldn't expect a shop to have done 4 hours of free work then ask them to do 4 more hours of free work. Read your invoice before you sign and then ask questions. This is a good business in our town, I dont like to see negative reviews on them because someone didn't understand what they were agreeing to. Ignorance is not an excuse to complain.
