Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Aspire has placed a frivolous charge on my credit report thus making my credit score dive. I have made payments and never had them reflected in my balance. I have also made many calls to them only to get the runaround and rude customer service representatives. After all these attempts my account was sold to Jefferson Capital who has refused to take this off of my credit report."

  • I think you should ask for monetary compensation too. This must be both aggravating and embarrassing for you. I think Jefferson Capital- whoever the heck they are- should be liable for at least $1000 to you for your time and trouble, and you're being generous to just ask for a fix.

If this happened to you, then its probably happened to others. If you leave your claim open, there's a good chance others will file too and class actions lawyers will get involved. Alternatively, Jefferson Capital might do the right thing and just fix the problem if enough people complain. Glad you posted this. at a min, it will warn others and maybe get the regulators involved.

  • In this situation, you have the right to an investigation into the charges that are showing up on your credit report. In order to be protected by the federal laws that have been established for credit reporting and consumer rights, you need to write a letter requesting an investigation into the charges. Be sure to send it certified, inform the company that you are disputing these charges, and request an investigation. If you follow these procedures, you should be able to take advantage of the protections allowed to you under the federal law.
