Claimant says:
"I have been a long time customer of Anthem for Health Coverage for myself and my son. On 9/1/14, I became automatically eligible for Medicare but did not know this until January 2015. In the meantime, unbeknownst to me, Anthem continued taking my full medical insurance premium of $816 and then, at the same time, denied all medical claims subsequent to 9/1/14 due to my Medicare eligibility. I was, thus, paying a premium to Anthem, despite the fact they were not actually providing coverage...and, obviously, they were aware of this fact since I learned in January that they had denied all claims subsequent to 9/1/14. I have been trying to recover four months of premiums (9/1-12/1/14), have called numerous times, sent several emails etc. I spoke with one person once but have been unable to speak or hear from her again since February. If not resolved, I probably will file a complaint with the Dept. of Insurance and file a Small Claims action. Thank you for your help."
