Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I took my vehicle to the said business to have them remove hail damage. My deductible was too high and Alex said he would work with me on it. I had received a check for close to 1300.00 from my insurance company, it was signed over to him and he charged me half of what it would cost for the deductible (500.00). So he did only five hundred dollars worth of work which consisted of replacing the hood, replacing the rain guards above both windows and the two molding strips on the roof.

There are still dents on the rest of the car, one molding strip kept coming off and I had to glue it back down myself. My owners manual is missing from my glove box and the weather guards for my wipers are missing as well.The drivers side door lock was not reconnected properly and my key wouldn't unlock the door, so I had to crawl through the trunk to unlock the car (lucky for me my back seats fold down).

They fixed the lock when I took the car back to have them put the rain guards and molding on.But I had to wait several days before they did that. In the meantime I had to leave my car unlocked which made me feel uncomfortable. In addition, my keyless remote will not work. I had it tested and replaced the battery in it and the remote is good. Either they messed something up in the car that keeps it from working or it has to be re programmed which will cost me 60.00 (that I don't have). In addition, there are bolts missing from the lenses for my tail lights and the right tail light has a corner piece missing from it.

On the day I initially took my car in to him for an estimate, he told me he would warranty the work and if there was any thing that was missed they would fix it free of charge. After noticing that they didn't repair all the damage and things were missing I contacted him and he became irate with me, saying that he was good enough to loan me a vehicle while the work was being done (but that was part of the initial agreement too).

My car, a 2008 Pontiac G5 was in good shape except for the hail damage and I expected it to be as good as new when I got it back, but of course it's not. I feel that he took advantage of me because I am a single woman with no other source of transportation. The loaner vehicle "died" while he still had my car and I had to have someone from work take me to the shop to get the same one back for another two weeks.

I don't trust this particular body shop to touch my car again."
