Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I (Jeffrey Jones Marine Service) Ordered a ALKT08.2 Adjustable 8000lbs. W/Two Drives Aluminum Boat House Lift. on 7/11/2013.
I was told that the lift would be delivered in 2-3 weeks.
After a lot us trying to get a hold of somebody They told me that the lift was being shipped on 8/16/13 on 8/20/13 3 pieces of I-beam showed up.
I called and called and called till I finely got a hold of Kristy Skipper and she said that the rest of the lift was being shipped on 8/23/2013 on 8/27/2013 I received 1 I-beam.
I called and called and called when I finely got a hold of Kristy Skipper and she told me that the truck driver for R&L trucking missed the rest of the parts at the dock.
She Promised the all of the rest of the lift was on a pallet and I would receive on 8/292013
on 8/29/2013 I received a pallet of parts but no drive motors, no controls and some other parts missing. I have been trying to call them but no one answers the phones.
Kristy skipper says that she is Vp of Ace Boat Lift's.
She has promised me on 4 separate occasions that my complete lift has been shipped.
And to this date 8/29/2013 I have not received my customers boat lift.
My customer wants his money back.
He is so mad and blames Jeffrey Jones Marine Service for not having and getting his boat lift installed."

Message from Ace Boat Lifts: All items have been delivered and accepted by Mr. Jones. Drive units were back ordered by distributor. Jones was advised and chose to wait for the available items as ordered. Communication has been consistent and as promised.

Drive units will be available to ship per manufacturer 9/19/13 as confirmed 9/7/13.

Jones indicates that weight pipe was not with order, although we have pictures showing that it shipped. In an effort to bring this to an amicable closure, we will reship weight pipe via UPS.


Other items thought to be missing were found with the order. Should this be the case with weight pipe, please advise.

  • I had a bad experience with ACE on a purchace last year. I stupidly bought their claim that the credit card machine was down and sent in a check, so I had no recourse when they shipped me wrong parts with a new hoist. Instead of just correcting their mistake and saying they were sorry, they tried to blame me and get me to pay more. They even wanted me to pay to ship back the wrong parts before they would send me the right stuff. Absurd business practice when I had just sent them $5500.

    Because of their mistake I got to pay my install crew and electrician to come back a second time, and what should have taken one day, ended up taking about 2 weeks since they took so long to resolve the problem. They didn't make everything right either, but I was so sick of dealing with them that I ended up getting some of the missing hardware at a local store.

    I also caught them in multiple lies thoughout the painfull 2 weeks of back and forth discussions to get things straightened out. For example: Kristy is the owner, not the admin... First call she was the admin and couldn't help me. A couple calls later, she is the owner...
