"To whom it may concern:
My name is Ronay M. Wheeler. I have a problem with a Dental Business named Absolute Dental. I came to them at 9400 S. Eastern. Approx. the third week in June with a toothache. I had used their services last year and had no problem with them billing Medicaid & Medicare the 2 insurances I have due to my disability. I receive Medicare as my primary and Medicaid as my supplement. I have been disabled for 15 years and I receive S.S payments of a little over $ 750.00 a month and have no other income. I am disabled and cannot work. I receive food stamps, but they are around $ 74.00 a month add that to my monthly income; then subtract $ 550.00 for rent. That is why I never see a doctor or dentist or any health provider who does not take both insurances.
When I contacted Absolute Dental I told them that they had accepted both of my insurances with no additional payment. I was informed by them on all visits that it was covered. THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD NEED 2 ROOT-CANALS BUT “IF YOU HAVE EXTRACTIONS THEN WE CAN BUILD YOU A PARTIAL YOUR INSURANCE WILL COVER IT BECAUSE YOUR INSURANCES DO NOT COVER ROOT CANALS. SO BASED ON THIS, I HAD 4 TEETH EXTRACTED AND PROCEEDED FOR SEVERAL VISITS; WHILE THEY MEASURED MY TEETH THE NEXT WEEK THEY TOOK A PLASTER CAST OF MY TEETH. WHEN MY TEETH WERE DELIVERED AND RE-SIZED FOR THE 4TH, TIME. I went in today, 9/20/2011 to have my partial adjusted; as I was walking out, the receptionist told me by the way you have a balance of $ 682.92 cause your insurance does not cover partials, and you now owe this amount and can you pay all of it today or do you want to make payments of $ 50.00 a month. Much to my surprise, I almost fell over and said, “why didn’t you bill my insurance“. She said “someone should have told you that neither of your insurances pay for partials, Sorry “cash or credit? Well I told them to send me a bill and when I got home I had a bill in the mail from them, (same day) stating that I owed them $ 1297.92. Well that really threw me for a loop and that’s when I showed the bill to my landlord George Ingram and he said that was wrong and I should call the Better Business Bureau.
