Claimant says:
"My employment with this home health agency ended January 3, 2014. My final paycheck was issued but when I attempted to cash it a stop payment had been placed by the agency. In addition I was paid at a much lower rate than I had been hired for and had been receiving for 2 years of employment. After filing a claim with the Virginia Dept. of Labor I learned that it takes 14 weeks for them to process a claim. On March 11 I went to the owner/CEO of the agency and asked for a new paycheck to be issued. She stated that she had mailed a check the previous day and that she had subtracted 16 hours from my pay. I was sent by the agency to a job site and worked 16 hours as scheduled. The agency found that the client's Medicaid had lapsed and ended staffing that site. I found employment with a more stable agency. The client chose to switch care providers as well. This agency has repeatedly harassed and threatened the client by phone and mail. The client has no income and no means of paying the agency. The owner threatened me with legal action as well citing a non-compete form that states i would not be employed privately by a current client of the agency. I am employed by a home health agency that took on this client when Medicaid was reinstated. I have not received any pay from this agency and expect full payment for hours worked as assigned. My relationship with this agency was OK until I left their employment, although pay days and banks changed frequently and paychecks/direct deposits bounced more than once."
