Claimant says:
"I have complaints from two of my vehicles from this company.
The first is my 1997 villager. I took my van to Mr. Lawes because he said that he could replace the engine in it. We agreed on a price of $1600.00 for the replacement, and he said that it will be ready by April 2, 2011.
Later he called me and said the price would be higher because he had some other things that he needed to add to the price because he wanted to do it right. I agreed to the price increase.
Then on April 18, 2011 Mr. Dona delivered my van to me and I paid him $1875.00 cash. Before he left, he noticed that the van was leaking oil. He then loaded the van back on his truck to take it back to his shop. I told him that the check engine light was on. He said that he will check it and fix it.
About a week later he called me and told me that my van was ready, when I went to pick it up, I noticed a one gallon milk jug on the front floor on the passenger side of the van. The jug was crushed, and it was less than half full of oil, and the carpet in the front of the van was drenched with oil. Mr. Dona’s helper told me that I can get the oil out with down dishwashing soap.
When I got to the highway with the van and got up to around 60mph, the van front end started bouncing really bad. I called him and told him what was happening. He told me to bring it back. A week or so later he told me that the van was fixed. When I went to pick it up, he told me that it was repaired and it didn’t bounce anymore. I asked him had he driven it himself, and he told me no. when I got on the highway, the van was doing the same thing. I called him and took it back to him. I also asked him to check the cruise control because it wasn’t working now.
When I finally got my van back on January 8, 2012 the front end was still bouncing but not as much.
The next day after I filled the van up with gas, I noticed that the gas was leaking out. When I looked under the van, I noticed that it had a big hole in the gas tank. When I called Mr. Lawes and told him. He said that he didn’t think he did it. And that I had to take some reasonability. Then he refused to talk to me about it anymore.

While I was waiting on my van to be repaired by Mr. Lawes, in August 2001, the wheel bearing on the left side of my 1994 mercury marquees broke. I called Mr. Lawes and told him what had happened. He sent his wrecker out to get my car. He confirmed that the wheel bearing had broken and need to be replaced. He informed me that if I changed one of the bearings, then I needed to change both of them. I already knew this and agreed to the change. He charged me $150.00 to change each side totaling $300.00.
Then in November 2011, the right side wheel bearing broke. After I had it removed, I discovered that Mr. Lawes had not changed it, even though he said that he did and charged me $150.00 for doing so.
Later when I confronted him and showed him the bearing, he called the person that was supposed to have done the work and asked him if he had changed both of them.

I paid Mr. for work to be done and he didn’t do it, he created a bigger mess by spilling oil in my van and refusing to clean it out and charging me for work that wasn’t done. He is a dishonest person, and needs to be accountable for his auction.
