Claimant says:
"We have a complaint against a company operating in Barling, Arkansas. Their contact information is “The Resort Place”, Dora Edmonson, Owner and Arah Shaw, Customer Service and Reservations, P.O. Box 23190, Barling, Arkansas 72923, (479) 668-0786.
Here is our complaint: On Feb 24, 2015 we paid $1,099 for two vacations in Maui, Hawaii. The first was for lodging and parking at Aston at Papakea Resort, Reservation Number 9119 for Dec 10-24, 2016. When we arrived in Maui, Papakea said the reservation had never been placed. Papakea was able to find us a room but it cost us $2,876.07.
The second Reservation Number 9579 for Jan 28- Feb 18, 2017 for lodging and parking at Aston at Papakea Resort was also never placed and Papakea would not honor this reservation either. During our stay and when we got home we tried for 3-weeks to contact “The Resort Place” by phone and email via their website, TheResortPlace.com and sales@theresortplace.com. We never got an answer so we had to cancel our plane and car reservations at a cost of $945.36. We didn’t get to go on our second vacation at all. These vacations were very important to us because we live in Alaska and like to get to a warm place during the long, cold winters.
We had used “The Resort Place” for our last two vacations with no problems, so trusted that there wouldn’t be a problem this time.
We hope you can help us to pursue this company so they will be forced to keep their legal obligations or at least make it where they can’t do this to anyone else.
I am sending some copies of the reservations that weren’t placed and some other documentation substantiating our complaint. Thank you for your assistance.
