Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My contract for 3G internet service was supposed to end DEC '11 as per a contract that I had signed. After checking the website just now (DEC 6 '11), to my surprise, the contract end date had somehow magically been changed to DEC of 2012! I had called customer service concerning this odd new term of my contract, and the tech claimed that I had "verbally agreed" to sign up for an extended contract (which I did NOT). Apparently, my calling for tech support a year ago to get my 3G running was my "consent" to extend the contract date; that, is a LOAD of BS! I did not EVER agree to contract IN WRITING (or even VERBALLY, as they are claiming). Furthermore, why would the contract end date (DEC '11) change from last month, extended another year when I checked today (DEC 6 '11)--- something fishy is going on, I think!
The tech suggested that I send a receipt to verify that I had paid for the 3G modem at Best Buy OUTRIGHT... I suggested to the tech that I wanted physical evidence that I had agreed to a new contract--- he said that he couldn't come up with any. Why should I be the one to have to prove that I had not signed any contract? I'm the customer--- and they're "dicking me over"."
