Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I switched to another provider - left Verizon.
I was told there was no contreact and I ported out 2 phone lines.
I was then charged $282 on my bill.
Contacted Verizon- told them of my situation and told them I would not have left them as a provider if I know I would be paying $282.

I also asked to lower my dad package to reduce cost.
The customer service rep just went offline.
I asked for an exact breakdown of the charges for early termination and he (Charley) did not supply me the info after asking 2x and I asked for someone higher up to contact 3x.
I have been a long time customer of Verizon and I'm so disappointed.
A luxury of a cell phone should not cause stress.
Can you help me?
I have taken screen shots of the conversation I had with the verizon customer service rep.
I asked for deferred billing until this is resolved and he left the online chat.
Thank you,
Michelle"

  • Were you told that there was no contract in a Verizon store or on the phone? In many cases, conversations by phone are taped although one that doesn't involve setting up a new contract might not have been. Verizon should be able to tell you.

Did the provider you switched to offer to buy out any existing contract? If so, were they a witness to the conversation with Verizon?
