Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On Dec. 19 20013 boarded flight to anchorage Ak. from Albuquerque NM 1 hour out of Anchorage captain announced they were out of fuel ,landing Vancouver BC too refuel and continue on. after refueling ,they announced, that pilots were out of flying time, we were spending the night then continuing on at 10 the next morning. next morning US announced plane was going back to Phoenix AZ. and could not guarantee us booking on another flight till after the holiday season. That was not a option for me and wife. told by counter person that since we had passports to make other arrangements and US would issue us a voucher, did so, went back for voucher, manager came out told us and others in line, they had issued all they were going to and the rest of us would have to go back to Phoenix. we figured if we were going to be stranded in a city we did not live in we might as well be closer to our destination. My wife and I spent $1483.24 to get to seattle then on to anchorage. After 2months of letter writing to complaint dept. US airways credited our credit card $271.38 that leaves a balance of $1211.86 I want my money."
