Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"June of 2007 Karl Nasvik of Themesapes came to our home on the hottest day of the summer to put in a new cement driveway that we had paid him $6500.00 for. Within one year the driveway started to fall apart - Karl made many idle promises to have this looked at and fixed. We are now 5 years out and nothing has been done to date. We have consistently tried to work with Karl, but, he states that he has no money and his employees do not get paid on a regular basis, so we give him some time to work things out. We have called and sent him letters and pictures of the driveway in its present state and we have had no replies. I have attached pictures of the day the work was being done and also a picture of the current state of the driveway. Karl was asked repeatedly to bring a contract to sign for the work being done, and it was always "tomorrow". We never got a contract from him. He states that this was a "side job" and that is supposed to be his out for not repairing the driveway? It was a year and a half ago that he stated to us that because we were being so patient he would bring out a cement bench for the front yard, the kind that they make in their company. That never happened either. We paid him in good faith for the work that was done - he has not acted in good faith by delivering a less than good product - this is bad faith on his part."

  • After researching your claim, it seems that most logical place to start with potentially getting a resolution would be to file a consumer complaint with the office of the Attorney General for the state of Minnesota. It appears because of the scope of the work they perform, they would need to be licensed contractors due to the fact that they have more that one specialty as contractors. Because of this, a consumer complaint could possibly lead to some form of settlement for repairs and/or replacement.
