"a tree in my front yard has lifted the blocks in my driveway up to 1/2inch high. the company,THE RIGHT WAY LLC name was given to me as one the community uses to level driveways and sidewalks. Aian Roof of that company quoted me $1600 to do the job. on 11/9/15 he and his team worked on my driveway. upon completion they had cracked two blocks and at the end of the driveway there is a lip 1 1/2 inches above the sidewalk. Alan said he would take of it when he does the sidewalks for the community later that month. as of today nothing has been done and after numerous calls, the latest 2/8/16, there has been no reply. the bottom line is it cost me $1600 and I ended up with 2 cracked blocks and a lip 1 1/2 inches higher than my sidewalk, which is worse than I had originally."

  • [THIS ISSUE],is your receiving $1,600 on 11/9/15 to level my driveway. what did happen was your leaving me with 2 broken blocks and a 1 1/2 inch lip at the of my driveway. it remains in that condition today. the only resolution to [THIS ISSUE] is your refunding my $1,600. upon receipt of these funds all claims and petitions will be dropped.

  • I have offered thru a third party to have your cracks repaired and the driveway stained to a color you can pick from the Behr collection.

    Having worked in UPCC for the last consecutive 8 years it has become more than apparent that the builder of most pf the homes used inferior low grade sandy and aggregate free concrete , creating issues at other drives thru the community and the years.

    Mr De Risi clearly understood the inferior concrete issue as he was asked to examine the core samples,samples that were left with him
    .
    With regards to the apron . The Right Way while completing it's yearly contract on the common sidewalks could not provide a solution to the kicked up apron by the street because of the huge 4 plus inch root on the corner that plagues UPCC , hence the reason we are there every year.

    UPCC does not pay for the apron and The Right Way will take no further responsibility trying to lift another slab and have it break.

    Mr DeRisi was given a $ 400 discount which he refused and the end of the job.

    He clearly understood and let me know it was not my fault and he could see the core sample was sandy and without aggregate.

    There is nothing that can be done but grinding the corner down and concrete staining the drive.

    It is Not The Right Way's Fault that the concrete is inferior and does not know that until it has setup on the job and drills its holes , then applying gentle pressure if it feels the concrete is thin or inferior.

    Tree roots from his large oaks and all the oaks within the community play a % 95 part in why all the sidewalks are heaved and uplifted.

    There will be no refund as the job was lifted and leveled to the best ability of The Right Way with all the roots and what we had to work with

  • the third party, the right way is referring to agrees with me that his proposal to fix the cracked blocks will not solve my problem. I still have a 1 1/2 inch lip sticking out of my driveway. the right way said I clearly understood the inferior concrete issue. since when did I become a expert on concrete? however right way is suppose to be the professional and if he taught the concrete was inferior and the blocks would crack he should not have taken the job. he also said UPCC does not pay for the lip (which he caused). I did however pay him $1,600 to level my driveway. he said he offered me a discount of $400. in reality it was $300 and the reason I refused was because he said he was coming back to fix the lip. he has worked at UPCC for 8 years and knows about tree problems and the inferior concrete issues, yet he appraised the job to level my driveway for $1,600. the right way appraisal lists item (1) to LIFT,LEVEL AND ELIMINATE ALL TRIP HAZARDS AND VOIDS ON EXISTING DRIVEWAY. I have a hard time understanding how the right way, a so called professional could crack 2 blocks and leave a dangerous lip in my driveway and then walk away. as far as I am concerned he still owes me the $1,600 refund as he did not do the job.
