"Claimant's opinion:
I was looking at renting property at2031 Kane Road Eau Claire 54701. We talked about issues that I was concerned with. No garage and he was remodeling, would it be done by Oct 1st. He said it would be done and maybe I could start moving in sooner. So I wrote a deposit check for $725 so I could move in by Nov. 1st, I gave him a check mid Sept.
Things changed a week later. I found another property with a garage and it was cheap than his. So I called him Sept. 27, 2013, more than 30 days before I was going to rent it, and said I could not rent his property. He said he needed me to because he didn't have anyone else lined up.. I was sorry but I can't do it I need to go with the cheaper place. I called a week later and he said he was putting an add back in the paper and that cost would come out of my deposit. I said ok but I would like to get the rest back. He said he would get back to me after he found a new tenant. I called and stop by and he said he may keep all of the deposit and I thought it was not right because I did not rent his property at all."
