Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We were forced to cancel reservations for 3-day lodging at Stay Pittsburgh because my partner had a medical condition which unexpectedly arose which rendered it impossible for him to fly (which was the mode of transportation we had purchased) which would in turn compel us to cancel our reservations at Stay Pittsburgh. The trip was totally cancelled! I attempted to cancel lodging at Stay Pittsburgh several days in advance via sending a text to a cell number associated with the hotel I had retrieved from Google--I also sent an email to an email address I browsed upon. Additionally, I attempted to cancel through Booking.com (the original purchase site), which I did but as it came closer to our travel and lodging a staff member directly from the hotel replied via email with the "no refund policy rhetoric," which I though was quite unfair when I attempted in good faith to cancel in time to allow another party(ies) to reserve so that the entity would not lose money on that reservation. I also received a response from Booking.com to contact the hotel. The hotel initially requested me to contact Booking.com I got the back and forth days in advance on the day(s) we were to lodge and past the days of lodging...I complied with every request but was denied the refund of my reservations. I thought this was fowl since a medical condition was a special circumstance and should have been given special approval to receive a refund."
