Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I was the pastor of this church from 1997-2002. I left the church February 2003. In 2002 I was called to the the church for a meeting, upon my arrival at the church, Myrna Graham,Joyce Manguse and Joan Griffin were present. Myrna Graham (the assistant pastor asked me to turn in my resignation, or they would contact the police and advise them I raped Joan Phinzy ( a deaf mute woman).Myrna advised that Joan could get people to believe her,Joyce and Joan confirmed. there were already rumors going around accusing me of stealing money from the church. shortly after this meeting I was contacted by Rev. Raught, he advised that the church was disatisfied with me ,but he couldn't state a reason. from 2002 to 2003 several meetings were held at member's homes, the first meeting was held at Wanda dozier's home and the second at Patricia Dozier's home, which attorney Jenkins attended, who is employed by the American Baptist Convention. a couple more meetings were held thereafter at St. Pauls, with Rev. Raught in attendance, he still had no explanation for the meetings. My insurance was dropped and my salary witheld. I was advised my Myrna, Joyce and joan that they were being represented by lawyers from the ABA,at no cost to the church. they advised me that the ABA,told them that if they didn,t want me at the church anymore they could tell me to leave, and if I was accused of stealing money from the church and raping someone, they didn,t have to pay me. I recieved threatening phone calls, and was advised I would be dealt with by a local drug dealer. One sunday when I got up to preach, the majority of the congregation walked out of the church. two officers of the church stood up with their hands in their pockets.( Graham, and Carter). The woman's sister who was accusing me of rape, came in the church, opened the back windows, and proceeded to take pictures of me. Shortly after the church filed charges against me, I had to hire a trial lawyer. I was found not guilty of all charges. Before I went to court, the church had articles put in all the local papers and contacted the local news stations and broad casted the story. This was Malicious and Willful Intent, and should be noted with the District Attorney Generals Office. I want to be vindicated. I want a public apology in all the local news papers and on the local news stations. I also want compensatory and punitive damages in the amount of 500,000 from the church, all individuals involved and the American Baptist Association."
