Claimant says:
"I was looking to purchase a vehicle and I put $500 down on a Monte Carlo they have. I realized I wouldn't be able to get the car cause I wouldn't have the rest of the down pymnt so I called the very next morning and informed Mike Wiley of this and I was told I couldn't get my $500 back. I never test drove the car or even opened the door to look in it, merely looked through the window of it. I was told they would give me back $250 of my down payment once they sell the car. I don't think this is fair or right on behalf of them and I just want my $500 dollars back."

  • The explanation that Mr. Morris gave for filing this claim is not the exact reason or full store that he gave here. He did NOT call back the very NEXT day, it was more like towards the end of the week. Also, when he was asked about his credit history, one of the questions we asked him was "have you had any repo's in the last year. He then stated he had not had any. Upon checking with the finance company we use, we found this to be untrue. He then called back at the end of the week to say he could not get the rest of the money for the downpayment, We were unsure if this statement was true either. After that conversation with him, we received this letter. Mr. Morris was well aware that there are no refunds on downpayments. The reason for a downpayment is to hold a car while you work on obtaining on your financing. In the area you have here for "Advise to Others", where he states that he would advise anyone not to come here because we are ripping people off and what we are doing is illegal is so not true. We have a very good reputation, been in business for over 20yrs., and really try to do whatever we can to make our customers happy. If I am not mistaken this statement could be considered libel. I feel that it is unfortunate that anyone can use social media to try to intimidate people so they can get what they want.
