Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased a shark steam mop that came with a vacuum. I purchased it from a TV advertisement via the phone number, not online. When the box arrived, I set it aside, it arrived August 25 2014. I take a 5 hour ride to take care of my 80 year old mother in law and my husbands sister who has been mentally and physically handicapped all of her life. It was a number of days before I opened the box to try it. I was not happy with the quality of the "rechargeable stick vacuum". I accepted the fact that I ordered it, so I will keep it. I never used it, I guess I was just disgusted with it. A few days later, I saw an advertisement on TV offering the same steam mop with the powered lift away vacuum that came with it for the same price I paid for my mop and vacuum. The power lift away vacuum was far superior to the vacuum I got with my kit, no comparison whatsoever. I was irate, I got ripped off. I called them to ask if could exchange my stick vacuum for the regular vacuum advertised, I told them I had not used the products (I still have not used them) I told them that I felt like I had purchased an inferior product compared to the power vacuum offer at the same price. They were rude and told me my 60 days were up for a cash refund. I told them I did not want a refund, just an exchange, and that the product is brand new and has not been used. They told me they would not do anything to help me. I even called the corporate offices. They woman that I spoke with was so rude, she practically yelled at me. Same thing, "no way". I called their customer service office again. the woman there she would deduct $30 from my payments, I am not aware that they deducted anything from my payments. I was still very angry that I paid $200 dollars for the same steam mop that I can buy at Walmart for $79 dollars. The stick vacuum is absolutely worthless. Had I received the power vacuum with my order, I would have been happy with the cost of these products. I was under the impression that the vacuum that I received with the steam mop, was of the same quality as the power vacuum that I saw advertised days after I received my product."

  • It seems like their customer service department is beating around the bush when it comes to explaining exactly why you cannot exchange a never used product. It might be a good idea to call and ask for a verbal and written statement about their exchange policy.
