Claimant says:
"I am a cash paying patient of this office. For two years now this office has called me telling me that someone didnt charge me for a test that was done. My balance when I leave the office is always paid in full. The first time they called me to retrive more money back in 2010 I paid it. Then on 9/19/2011 I was seen at this office, paid for my services in full that was done to get another phone call the very next day to say that they forgot to charge me once again for a test. I told them that was the second time this has happened. They said i still needed to pay it. I asked to speak with someone else on this matter. During the wait on someone to call me back I got another bill with more money that they said I owed. They stated $60.00 for a pap smear and $47.00 for futher lab charges. I explained to them that I paid my balance in full when I left and how could they have forgotten to charge me for a pap smear test when they gave me the papers on how to get my results. The lady said she was not sure how they came up for the amount but I needed to pay my bill. I was told the lab bill $47.00 was for futher testing on my pap. In which case I got my results back fast. So if they sent my pap for futher testing then I dont believe I would have got my results so fast. They sent me through several people on this matter. I was told they would speak with the account manager and call me. I had agreed to pay for the further lab test $47.00 but I was not paying the $60.00 for the pap test because that was that was the second time they done that to me. I then qustioned the lady on how i got my results back so fast if they sent it to the lab for additional testing, she wasn't sure. I didn't receive a bill from a lab but got one from them saying "diagnostic laboratory."They had my work number and my cell. Three weeks went by before i got a phone calling saying that i could pay the lab fee and they would take off the pap smear test. I told the lady i would pay the $47.00. She stated she would send me a new bill. I then got a collection letter from George Brown Associates. They had sent me to a debt collector for $133.75. I never recevied a new bill for correct amount that i owed nor did I get a phone call stating they were going to send me to a debt collector for a past due account. From 9-2011 to 12-2011 i called rutherford obgyn to resolve this matter. They finally had agreed on taking off $60.00 for me to only owe $47.00. This matter took up most of the months of my account being past due because they would never call me back. I called their office twice on them sending me to collections and how I had agreed to pay the $47.00 when I received the bill with the correct amount. I was told that they would discuss this matter with the adminastrater. I also asked why it went from $47.00 to now I owe $133.75 Sherry told me that it was because it was services provided to me that I needed to pay plus the fee of sending it to collections. I told her that was not fair. My balance was zero when I left to that I agreed to pay the lab bill of $47.00 even though I didnt know what it was really for to now they sent me to collections for the full amount. I told her I never got a new bill or a phone call before they sent me to collections. She stated that it was on my account at her office that after they received my payment then they would take off the $60.00. I asked her how was I to know that i was waiting on a new bill with the amount I agreed to pay. She said she would talk to the administrator and get back in touch with me. So the last phone call from that office is that it will stay in collections until I pay it. So please help me with this matter. I hate this office has done this to me. I liked and trusted my doctor. I have seen him for a long time and didn't want a new one. Now that I have been sent to collections on an account that was paid in full I can no longer be seen at that office. This was so unfair to me. I hope that other people that go to this office don't go through this. It's very wrong"
