Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On Oct 9, 2017 I paid $1648.19 for a 9 day all inclusive vacation including 3 meals per day with Royal Seas Cruises for 2 persons. This included 3 days &2 nights at a 5 star resort in Fort Lauderdale, 3 days & 2 nights in a 5 star resort in Orlando, 2 night cruise to The Grand Bahama Island, 9 days transportation by a rental car while in Florida, and $50 in Casino Match Play on board the ship. I had 18 months to schedule my travel dates. In case of an emergency I could cancel any time before travel date. On Sept. 25, 2018 I called customer care and spoke with Fredricka to schedule my dates for May 1 to 9. At that time I was informed of $815 more of hidden charges I had to pay but if I paid $765 for an upgrade that day then everything would be paid for including port fees and alcoholic beverages even though I was not happy about these hidden charges, I paid it so I wouldnt have to worry with any other charges. The last of Jan. I had to have an emergency surgery on my hip which eliminated my ability to travel permanently. On Feb. 5, 2019 I called customer care and spoke with Fredricka about transferring the vacation to my son and change the dates to when he could travel. That was all fine except I was again informed of another $782 of hidden charges that would have to be paid. I told her that I had paid an upgrade fee that was suppose to cover everything and she said no that was just to upgrade my rooms which were already supposed to be 5 star. She also informed me that on the second day of our arrival, we would be required to attend a resort tour before we could get our cruise ship passes.  This was the first I heard of this. I have been on many of these type of tours and they always say it wont take over a couple of hours but in my experiences, they take at least a half of day or longer.  Also any time you get any kind of accommodations by taking a promotional sales tour, then you get the accommodations for free or at a huge discount.  I wouldnt consider any part of this vacation package to be at a discount price. After informing my son of these additional charges, he couldnt go and I had already told him that all the expenses for everything were paid. I called Fredricka back and told her this was just a scam and I just wanted to cancel and get a full refund of all the money I had already paid totaling $2,413.19. She informed me that I could cancel but I could not get any refund. This whole vacation package was nothing but a scam and false advertisement and I want a full refund. After reading reviews about this company and learning that the BBB had graded them with an F, I realized I was dealing with the wrong company."
